Principal's Message

Happy Thursday, Awesome Highland Families!

We wanted to start by saying thank YOU for your cooperation at arrival and dismissal! We all noticed the improvement at the drop-off lane in the morning. It is so amazing to see everyone doing their part to achieve one goal: our children's safety. We appreciate you!

Due to the weather forecast, we have decided to reschedule our Walk-a-Thon for next Friday, October 23rd. Tomorrow is expected to be cool and rainy with gusty winds. The forecast for next Friday looks beautiful!

Highland School Walk-a-thon on Friday, October 23rd at 2:15 PM!

All students and staff participate in this fun, school-wide event that helps raise funds for our Highland School Angel Fund. The Angel Fund provides necessary items and services for our families who may need a helping hand.

Here’s how you can help:

✅ Look for the pledge sheet that came home.
✅ Encourage friends and family to sponsor your child with a small donation.
✅ Return all pledge sheets and donations to your child’s classroom teacher by Friday, October 23.
Families are welcome to walk with us! Come out and cheer on the kids or join the walk!
Want to volunteer?
We’d love your help during the event! Please contact Mrs. Weissenberg at kweissenberg@skokie68.org

Thank you for supporting our Highland community!

Halloween is in Two Weeks!

We are excited to share that we will have Halloween parties on Friday, October 30, from 2:30-3:30. The children really enjoy it when their grown-ups can come, so we hope you can make it!

A few reminders:

  • Costumes should not be worn to school in the morning. We will put them on in the early afternoon. Please know that violent characters or weapons are not permitted.

  • We will have a parade at about 3:10 p.m., with all of the visitors going to the playground to be the spectators. If it is too cold or rainy, we will parade indoors.

  • If you would like to opt your child out of the Halloween celebration, please email your child’s teacher. We already have a separate list of fun activities that they will be engaged in during that time.

Parent/Guardian Perception Survey: We Want to Hear From You

If you still have not had the chance to complete the survey, please take some time and share with us your valuable feedback!

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, Skokie 68 is conducting Perception Surveys to gather feedback from students, families, and staff about their experiences in our schools.

Your parent/guardian feedback will help us identify areas for recognition and improvement and support the goals of our 2026–2031 Strategic Plan. Survey results will also establish baseline data and help us measure our progress, including our goal of strengthening the sense of belonging among students, families, and staff.

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Complete the Parent/Guardian Perception Survey:

Please note that students in Grades 3-8 will also complete a Student Perception Survey during the school day. The student survey is also anonymous and will not ask students for personal information.

Parents/guardians may review the survey below to see what students will be asked.
Review the Student Perception Survey:

Thank you for sharing your perspective and partnering with us as we listen, learn, and use feedback to make meaningful improvements for our students, families, and staff.
