Dear Families,

Learning is in full swing across all classrooms at Devonshire. As we recognize Bullying Prevention Month, students are exploring what it means to be kind, inclusive, and safe. One highlight this week that reflects the Devonshire vision was our Kindergarten and 1st grade students welcoming the Skokie Fire Department to learn about firefighters, their equipment, and how they help keep our community safe. One Pod. Everyone Safe.

It was also wonderful to see so many families at parent-teacher conferences tonight. We hope to see another full building tomorrow and appreciate the opportunity to connect and celebrate our students' learning and growth together!

We wish all our Dolphin families a fantastic four-day weekend! As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow (Friday) for parent-teacher conferences or on Monday in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. Enjoy the long weekend, Dolphins!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

Throughout October, Devonshire students will learn about kindness, inclusion, respect, and standing up for others as we recognize Bullying Prevention Month. As One Pod, our classrooms will engage with a shared text, All Are Welcome, and activities that reinforce our commitment to ensuring everyone belongs and feels safe. Here is a link to the read-aloud for you to enjoy with your families.

🧡 Unity Day is Wednesday, October 21! We encourage all Dolphins to wear orange as we unite for belonging and inclusion and stand together against bullying.

Attendance Incentives

Grade levels and individual classes continue to achieve their goals and earn rewards. Keep up the good work, and keep getting to school on time every day!

Also, Don't forget about Secret Attendance Day in October! One day in October, the normal lunchroom will turn into The Dazzling Diner, with music and other fun surprises for students who attend that day. Be sure to come every day in October so you don't miss the Dazzling Diner!
